I'm giving a Dickhead Award to Ben Stein this week. Summary: On Glenn Beck, Ben Stein, while discussing Sen. Barack Obama's plan to deliver his speech accepting the Democratic presidential nomination at Denver's Invesco Field, stated that he did not "like the idea of Senator Obama giving his acceptance speech in front of 75,000 wildly cheering people." Stein further stated: "Seventy-five-thousand people at an outdoor sports palace, well, that's something the Fuehrer would have done." Each television station gives a platform to a right wing stooge and Glenn Beck is CNN's token idiot. link | via ![]() |

Is Huckabee just so damn stupid that he can no longer keep his narrow views hidden when speaking in front of a televised audience? It's beyond offensive that these vulgar slights roll off his tongue so effortlessly. It's usually not so 'in your face' from a skilled politician. Is this his way of trying to be likable and funny to the other squares? "During a speech before the National Rifle Association convention Friday afternoon in Louisville, Kentucky, former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee — who has endorsed presumptive GOP nominee John McCain — joked that an unexpected offstage noise was Democrat Barack Obama looking to avoid a gunman," CNN Associate Political Editor Rebecca Sinderbrand reports at the cable network's Political Ticker.via | video Labels: neocons, Obama, opinions, politics, underreported ![]() |

DAFFY DOES DOOMBy Maureen Dowd 01/27/07 New York Times Dick Durbin went to the floor of the Senate on Thursday night to denounce the vice president as "delusional." It was shocking, and Senator Durbin should be ashamed of himself. Delusional is far too mild a word to describe Dick Cheney. Delusional doesn't begin to capture the profound, transcendental one-flew-over daftness of the man. Has anyone in the history of the United States ever been so singularly wrong and misguided about such phenomenally important events and continued to insist he's right in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary?
